I love a good Girls Night In with my gal pals. So when I was selected to write a post on how to host a Girls Night In party for Duncan Hines I was so excited!
This holiday season I've decided to host a Clothing Swap Party! Not only do you get the opportunity to clean out your closet but you can feel good about recycling and have fun while doing so.
Here are some thoughts and ideas for hosting a Clothing Swap Party:
If you think size may be an issue, you can encourage your guests to bring accessories as well. A lot of jewelry, hats and purses are one-size-fits-all.
A potluck is also a great idea for saving money and sharing recipes. Bonding over clothes and food during the holidays is a sure way to bring you and your lady friends closer :)
Make sure to offer a private area where your guests can try on items. A full-length mirror is also helpful.
Do ask people to bring items in good condition. I will be giving my guests the option to either swap or donate items. Amvet is wonderful and will come by your house to pick up any unwanted items. Find your nearest Amvet location here.
A fun way to end the party would to put on all the "unwanted" clothing items and have a fashion show. I did this once at a party and it was really fun!
Another, suggestion is to make your party a clothing swap/trunk show. This is a great idea if you have or know someone who is in the direct home sales business. Ladies love shopping, so how convenient would it be to clean out your closet AND replace them with some great new finds.
In this economy I think my party will be a hit. This is a fun and easy way to bond and feel good about giving, recycling, and supporting women entrepreneurs (if you decide to go swap/trunk show route). If you have any thoughts or suggestions on clothing swap parties I would love to hear them!
Remember to check out Duncan Hines' website www.duncanhines.com to find some great recipes for your holiday get-together! I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective.
